Champions Trophy 2025: PCB writes to ICC after Pakistan's name missing from logo in India vs Bangladesh broadcast
India defeated Bangladesh by six wickets in Match No.2 of the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has written to the International Cricket Council (ICC) asking for an explanation after the official host nation's name was missing from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo during the live broadcast of the India vs Bangladesh match in Dubai. This incident occurred just days ahead of the blockbuster India vs Pakistan clash.
The India vs Bangladesh game, which took place in Dubai, saw the Champions Trophy 2025 logo appear in the top left corner of the broadcast. However, unlike previous matches, Pakistan’s name was omitted from the branding. In the earlier broadcasts, including the tournament opener between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi, both the event name and Pakistan’s name was visible. The same was also evident during the Afghanistan vs South Africa fixture in Karachi.
The PCB expressed its dissatisfaction and has been assured by the ICC that such an issue will not occur again. While the ICC has reportedly informed PCB that the incident was a technical glitch, the explanation has not convinced the Pakistani board given that broadcast graphics are prepared well in advance and were correctly displayed in previous games.

Pakistan would not travel to India for ICC events over the next three years
The ICC has mentioned that the missing name was due to an early technical error and has assured that the issue will not affect future broadcasts. The governing body clarified that all upcoming matches, whether played in Pakistan or the UAE, will carry the correct branding.
The Champions Trophy 2025 has already been affected by political controversy over its hosting rights. Pakistan was originally awarded the entire tournament, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cited governmental restrictions on playing in Pakistan and insisted that India’s matches be held at a neutral venue.
Eventually, a hybrid model was adopted, with India's matches, including the semi-final and final if they make it that far, being scheduled in Dubai. In return, Pakistan secured an agreement that it would not travel to India for ICC events over the next three years, with the games having a similar arrangement of being played at neutral venues.
