CS Squad 2023 Player List: Complete Colombo Strikers (CS) Squad and Players List for LPL 2023
Pakistan's all-format skipper and batting superstar Babar Azam will lead the side in the fourth edition of the tournament after he was named as one of the pre-selected players.
The LPL 2023 auction, held at the Shangri La Hotel in Colombo on Wednesday, June 14, provided last year's runner-ups Colombo Strikers an opportunity to strengthen their squad. The first-ever player auction in the competition's history was organised ahead of the fourth edition of the tournament, commencing on July 31.
Colombo Stikers (CS), previously known as Colombo Stars and Colombo Kings, made a terrific start in the inaugural edition of the competition, finishing as the table-toppers during the group stage. However, they were knocked out of the tournament at the semi-final stage by Galle Gladiators.
They finished in the third spot in the following two seasons and were toppled by Jaffna Kings in last year's final. Ahead of the inaugural LPL player auction, the Colombo-based franchise revealed the four pre-selected players signed by the franchise.

Strikers assembled a fearsome batting unit
Pathum Nissanka was the first purchase of the auction for the Colombo Strikers. He was bagged for his base price of $40000. Explosive wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella saw an intense bidding war between B-Love Kandy and Colombo Stikers to capture his signing. However, Colombo managed to outbid their rivals, roping in Dickwella for $44000.
Veteran Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz became their third signing of the auction after he was bagged for his base price of $40000. Pakistan's hard-hitting Iftikhar Ahmad also joined the Strikers to strengthen the middle order, for a hefty sum of $50000.
