Ireland's unprecedented victory against pre-tournament favourites England in a rain-marred game at the MCG on the October 26, has thrown the group wide open. The loss against Ireland makes England's encounter against Australia a must-win game. Former Afghanistan skipper Asghar Afghan reckoned that Jos Butter's side will be feeling low and hurting after this loss.

England were favourites heading into the encounter against their neighbours in Melbourne, but a spirited performance from the Irish saw them on the winning side after rain spoiled the party for England. Ireland's victory meant that five of the six teams in the group are now tied on two points each, with group leaders New Zealand set to take on Afghanistan later in the day.

The ODI World Champions will now take on defending champions Australia in a decisive clash at the MCG on Friday, with both sides needing crucial points in pursuit of a semi-final berth. Former Afghani skipper Asghar Afghan feels that the English will be feeling low after this loss, and their morale would be low for their next game.

"England will be really upset by this result. If you look at their bowling and batting capabilities, they are one of the best sides in the T20 World Cup this year. The defeat will hurt even more since they lost to their neighbors Ireland. England's morale will be low after this loss as they had the opportunity to solidify their position on the points table by beating Ireland. But now, they will have to win all of their remaining matches to make it to the semi-finals," Asghar Afghan said on 'BatBricks7 presents Run Ki Runneeti' on CricTracker.

Afghan also praised the bowling efforts of youngster Joshua Little in the match

Joshua Little was the star of the show for Ireland with a phenomenal opening spell with the new ball. He returned with impressive bowling figures of 2/16 in his three overs to set up the win for his side. Speaking about his brilliant performance Afghan said, "He was brilliant, he utilized the conditions really well and was disciplined with his line and length, troubling the batters."
