Fans design magnificent mural to extend birthday wishes to India's batting maestro Virat Kohli
Gurseet assembled thousands of Virat Kohli fans in Mumbai to give shape to a 20ft-by-20ft mural of Virat's face using five thousand red balls at Mumbai's Carter Road Amphitheater on November 5.
Renowned mural artist Gurseet Singh devised one of the most heartwarming ways to extend birthday wishes to India's batting maestro Virat Kohli as he turned 34 on Saturday, November 5. Gurseet and the organisers of the event assembled thousands of Virat Kohli fans in Mumbai to give shape to a 20ft-by-20ft mural of the former India captain's face using five thousand red balls at Mumbai's Carter Road Amphitheater on November 5.
While wishes came flooding in for the star India batter across several social media platforms, Gurseet and a section of Virat fans indulged themselves in a nine-hour-long activity that started as early as at 8:00 am to extend their wishes to Virat in a unique and heart touching way.
The mural after completion gave a mesmerising look and it all happened in the presence of Virat's childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma as he was present at the momentous occasion. Rajkumar was the one who spotted Virat's talent early on and nurtured him quite well which eventually helped Virat tremendously in the domestic circuit.
"It looks amazing and very creative from team PUMA and I will definitely send it to Virat as well. It fills my heart with great pride to see him getting so much love," Rajkumar Sharma told ANI.
"Virat Kohli is a modern-day cricket legend and has a special place in the fans' heart. It was our endeavour to bring them all together and make it a special birthday celebration for one of the most complete batsmen of this era," said Abhishek Ganguly, Managing Director, PUMA India and Southeast Asia, the organisers of the event as reported by ANI.
Meanwhile, Virat has been going all guns blazing in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. It was his phenomenal half-century (82* runs off 53 deliveries) that helped India scale what once looked like a daunting total against Pakistan in their opening fixture of the event at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on October 23 in front of more than 90,000 people.
He has scored three half-centuries in the event thus far and recently surpassed Mahela Jayawardene and became the leading run-scorer in the history of the T20 World Cup.
