Sunrisers Hyderabad, the ipl 2024 runners-up, have had a rough first-half to their campaign as far as the current season is concerned. They have managed to win only two out of their first eight games. For them to make it to the playoffs, SRH will have to win all of their remaining games and hope for other results to go their way.

Former Australian cricketer, Matthew Hayden, attributed SRH's poor form in IPL 2025 to a growing sense of self-doubt in the camp due to the manner in which they've been getting defeated by opponets this season.

"The simplest explanation is just a lack of confidence. When you start losing the way SRH has, it's tough to bounce back. They were seen as benchmark batters, but right now they're far from that. This has led to issues in the middle-order," shared Hayden while speaking on JioHotstar.

Hayden also felt that it was imperative for the Orange Army to rediscover their winning formula as compared to overthinking on their playing combinations.

"They need to stop overthinking and focus on their own game. Right now, SRH are chasing this tournament, chasing combinations, and even chasing the form that once defined their powerful batting unit," he added.

SRH's most-recent setback came against Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, April 23. They crawled to an underwhelmingly below-par total of 143/8 after being asked to bat first. In response, MI ended up winning the game by seven wickets and 26 deliveries to spare.

Wicketkeeper-batter, Heinrich Klaasen, top-scored for the hosts with a 71-run knock off 44 deliveries. As far as the bowling unit is concerned, Harshal Patel was the standout performer. Although he went wicketless, he conceded only 21 runs in his three overs.

SRH next face Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, April 25. The Pat Cummins-led side will be aiming to get their floundering campaign back on track with a win against a struggling CSK outfit. With both sides desperate for a win, the fixture is anticipated to be a cracker of a contest.
