The ODI World Cup 2023 is looming around the corner, and with the marquee event all set to begin on October 5 in India, the fans will lie in wait to witness some of the best teams in world cricket take on each other for the coveted title. With the tournament just a few months away, the pundits have begun making their predictions for the tournament.
Former Australian cricketer Greg Chappell is one of them. In an interview, Chappell was recently asked about the four teams he thinks will reach the semi-finals of the upcoming World Cup. Chappell named India, Australia, England, and Pakistan his semi-finalist picks.

With this regard, it's in India at the moment. I think the four teams to watch for me, India obviously, Australia, England, and Pakistan, the four best teams and the other Asian teams come into their own because it is in India but I will stick to those four at this stage,” Greg Chapell said in an interview with Revsportz.
England-New Zealand kick-off proceedings at World Cup
Speaking of the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, the season opener will be a clash between the finalists of the 2019 edition. England and New Zealand will face off against each other in the first game of the World Cup 2023 on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Furthermore, team India will kick off their World Cup campaign by taking on Australia in Chennai on October 8. They will take on Pakistan in the much anticipated encounter on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium as well.
Led by Rohit Sharma, it could be interesting to see how team India fares in the World Cup and if they are able to break their dreaded ICC curse.
