Harmanpreet Kaur turns 34 today and her franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) has posted a short video via their Twitter handle in which her teammates from the national team and Mumbai Indians (MI) can be seen sharing their memories with her. Along with her colleagues, her family members also feature in the video.

Leading MI, the veteran has given an ideal start to her team in the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). In the first game, MI vanquished Gujarat Giants (GG) by 143 runs, in which Kaur led from the front with her match-winning 65-run knock.

Talking about the second game, MI outclassed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with Hayley Matthew’s exquisite knock of 77 off 34 deliveries preceded by an excellent spell of 3/28. Matthews, who won the 'Player of the Match' award for her superb all-round show, also lauded her captain’s leadership skills.

Mumbai Indians have now rewarded Harmanpreet's excellent services to the team by creating this beautiful video. The video starts with MI mentor Jhulan Goswami and Pooja Vastrakar congratulating Kaur and sharing their memories with her. Going ahead, Amelia Kerr, Saika Ishaque, Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia, and Harleen Deol can also seen extending their congratulatory wishes.

Earlier, the franchise organised a midnight-birthday celebration for the skipper with a cake-cutting ceremony and by dancing to Punjabi songs. In the video shared by the MI Twitter handle, it is witnessed that Jhulan Goswami, Yastika Bhatia and some other teammates shook their feet on the dance floor.

MI to face the Delhi challenge next

In the WPL, MI’s next assignment will be against undefeated Delhi Capitals (DC). Under Kaur, the team will look to put in their best efforts against Meg Lanning and co. The two sides will lock horns on March 9 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Both the teams are currently ruling the league and are yet to face a loss.

In the previous game, riding on Lanning’s incredible 70 runs off 42 deliveries, DC succeeded in defeating UP Warriorz by a convincing margin of 42 runs.

Going by DC’s current form, Kaur and co. will have to put their best foot forward to stop the Captals’ juggernaut in the next game.
