Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) recently appointed former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan as the team's mentor ahead of the IPL 2025 season. Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of LSG, is optimistic that Zaheer's inclusion will significantly boost the franchise's prospects.
Despite being a relatively young franchise, LSG reached the playoffs twice in their three years of existence but the IPL title has remained out of their reach. Goenka expressed his excitement about bringing Zaheer on board.
"His ability to keep winning and his strong hunger for success are qualities that attracted me to bring him on board. A couple of weeks ago, I realized he wasn't associated with any cricketing franchise, so I reached out to him. We spoke, agreed, and here we are. It's as straightforward and quick as that. We are thrilled to have him on board and believe he will do wonders for the future of LSG," Goenka said during a recent media interaction.
