As the highly anticipated Test series between India and England draws near, former England spinner Monty Panesar has expressed his admiration for India's spin maestro, Ravichandran Ashwin. Panesar, who played a significant role in England's spin department during his career, likened Ashwin to a constantly updating application, highlighting the off-spinner's ability to evolve and introduce new elements to his game.

In an interview, Panesar showered praise on Ashwin, acknowledging the crucial role the Indian spinner is expected to play in the upcoming series, especially with India holding the home advantage. Panesar compared Ashwin's adaptability to that of a sophisticated app that consistently updates itself every six months.

“He’s like an app, he keeps updating every six months! That’s what he has done through his career. I always find that I am a student when it comes to Ashwin’s bowling. I feel I am continually learning something new about his bowling. That’s the asset Ashwin is. He is a brilliant bowler,” remarked Panesar.

Panesar emphasised that Ashwin's ability to constantly refine his skills makes him a standout performer and a challenging opponent for any batting line-up. The former England star expressed his admiration for Ashwin's bowling prowess, highlighting the spinner's knack for introducing variations and staying ahead of the game.

England to travel with personal chef to India

England faced a daunting task in Pakistan in December 2022 when a number of English players got sick due to bad food. To avoid something like that from happening again in India, the ECB has come up with a decision that could change how cricket teams travel around the world in the coming years.

Famous Manchester United chef Omar Meziane has been roped in as the personal chef of the England squad so that English players get nutritious food that they're used to. Indian food with a strong use of spices is often an attack on the taste buds of foreign players. This decision could ensure, that the England team doesn't have to waste energy and time on deciding what to eat, they could rather focus on the cricket, which is certainly slated to be a challenging test of their calibre.
