With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in full flow, the series has been through a series of roller coasters so far. The Indian team won the first Test in Perth, with Australia registering a win in Adelaide. Furthermore, the third Test of the series in Brisbane was drawn.

With the fourth Test approaching, Australia’s latest Test addition, Sam Konstas, is gearing up to face off against ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah. He would face Bumrah, given that he is selected in Australia’s lineup for the fourth Test at the MCG.

Speaking of his potential inclusion in the MCG Test, Konstas looked to be brimming with confidence but also admitted that he would not burden himself by watching Jasprit Bumrah’s footage ahead of the clash.

"I won't watch too much [of Bumrah]. I have already seen him a lot. But I am excited to challenge myself and face him. Usually, our analysts do a little feedback on each bowler. I might read that, maybe,” Konstas was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

It is worth noting that Konstas was in the running alongside youngster Nathan McSweeney before the start of the series. However, with subpar performances in the first three Tests of the series, Konstas could be selected for the fourth Test of the series.

"I'm super confident. Just backing my skills, I have done all the hard work. Just another game, I guess, and trying to keep it simple. As a kid you have always dreamt of the moment, and it is very rare, to get your baggy green. So it's a huge honour if I do get in,” Konstas said.

"It was all a bit unexpected, but very privileged to get the opportunity. I just had dinner with the family [to celebrate], pretty chilled. It was emotional, Mum was crying ... Everything has happened so fast,” he added.

The fourth Test of the ongoing BGT 2024-25 will be held at the MCG and will kick off on December 26 as both sides look to gain an advantage in the series.
