History was scripted by the Indonesian women's U-19 cricket team as they defeated Zimbabwe in a play-off between countries that finished fourth in their groups in the ongoing Women's U-19 T20 World Cup. The win is historic as it is Indonesia's first-ever victory in a World Cup match.

Although they couldn't make it to the Super Six this win will definitely boost their confidence for the matches in the future. By virtue of the win, Indonesia finished their World Cup campaign on a high note.

Captain Ni Luh Dewi turned out to be an asset for the side in the clash. Leading from the front the Indonesian skipper scalped five wickets by giving away just 18 runs in her four overs at an economy of 4.5.

Bowling first, Indonesia restricted Zimbabwe to just 86 runs for the loss of eight wickets as Ni Luh Dewi cleaned up Natasha Mtomba on the very first ball of the match, and just after the gap of one ball, she sent another opener back to the pavillion by dismissing Kay Ndiraya.

Ni Ariani picked two wickets and Desi Wulandari picked one wicket and backed their skipper's scintillating display with the ball. Tawananyasha Marumani and Danielle Meikle were joint-highest scorers for Zimbabwe scoring 20 runs each.

In reply, Indonesia also went on to lose regular wickets starting from just the second ball of the innings, but Ni Luh Dewi's 14 runs off 13 balls and a 31-run partnership between Thersiana Weo and Gusti Ulansari moved Indonesia closer to the historic win.

Zimbabwe still continued to hunt as bowler Chipo Moyo took three wickets and was backed up well by Kelis Ndhlovu who also picked up a three-fer herself while giving away just eight runs.

It was number eight and number nine who managed to put Indonesia over the line as Ni Indriyani and Ni Suarniasih finished unbeaten on nine and 12 runs respectively. Eventually Indonesia managed to score 87 runs for the loss of seven wickets and etched their names in history.
