Team India opener KL Rahul’s woes with the willow continues as the batter departed for mere one run in the chase of 115 in the ongoing second Test.  Rohit Sharma and Co. have engaged with Australia in the second of the four-match Test series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

As India begins their chase of a paltry 115 runs set by the Australian side in the third innings, the home side are well on course to clinch the second red-ball contest. However, in the midst of the run chase, opener KL Rahul immediately endured a setback as the right-hander departed for just one run.

Lyon bagged the batter once again in the second red-ball contest when the batter attempted a flick to the right of short leg. However, the ball rebounded off Handscomb’s pad, who was present at the short leg after which keeper Alex Carey snaffled it behind the stumps thereby sending the opener back to the dugout in utter disbelief.

His miseries with the bat continue as it is worth mentioning that the batter has failed to get scores beyond thirty in his last seven innings. In his last outing prior to the series against the Aussies, Rahul got scores of 22 and 23 in the first Test and followed it with ten and two runs in the second. Meanwhile, in the Nagpur Test against the Aussies, the batter could only manage to get 20 runs to his name and followed it with 17 and one run in the second red-ball contest.

India on top as team inches closer to 2-0 win

Courtesy of a majestic seven-wicket haul by star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja coupled with Ravichandran Ashwin’s three-wicket haul, Australia were restricted to just 113 in their second innings.

Handing a major advantage to the Indian side with the impressive bowling display, the home side are on course to claim yet another Test win. Despite having lost the early wicket of Rahul, Rohit and Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara will aim to stitch a vital partnership to help India seal in the contest.
