The ODI leg of the India vs England series is on the horizon, with the first game to be held in Nagpur. The city of oranges, which is expected to have a jam-packed attendance, will be followed by the teams travelling all the way to Odisha, where the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack will host the second match of the series on February 09.

Ahead of the mouth-watering contest, the demand from fans to watch the game live has skyrocketed, giving rise to security concerns at the venue. Hence, as a precautionary measure, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has assured of making strong security arrangements at the venue. A meeting was held on Tuesday, February 04 where the organization mulled over the review of beautification, sanitation and fogging operation at the city's premier cricket stadium.

The meeting included Officials from the district administration, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), Odisha Olympic Association, police and health departments, and the CMC who finalised the arrangements. The Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena also gave a brief on the security on the entry and exit plans of the people during the game.

“The entry and exit of people will be regulated through four designated gates, with personnel stationed to manage security and sanitation," the DCP said as quoted by News18.

“The district health department will also deploy ambulances and medical teams for emergency response on the match day, while food safety officers will monitor hygiene standards at stalls. To ease spectator movement, special bus services will operate from Cuttack’s Netaji Bus Terminus, Trishulia, and the railway station,” he added.
