IND vs ENG: No offline sales for Hyderabad Test; Tickets to be available exclusively online

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has announced that the tickets for the upcoming India versus England Test match, which is slated to begin from January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, will only be sold online after their black market debacle at the ODI World Cup 2023.

To prevent the black-marketing of match tickets, the HCA came forward and announced that the tickets will only be sold online and that the fans will have to exchange their online tickets for physical copies from Hyderabad Gymkhana, and other specified counters.

Jagan Mohan Rao, HCA President, came forward to talk about how every arrangement for the clash against England is ready, and how the board has taken proper action to prevent the illegal sale of tickets.

“This is a prestigious match. I feel there is a change in this match. All arrangements are ready, the security, housekeeping, and food preparations are done. Apex council members and 217 club members are supporting me. All tickets will be sold online through Paytm (Insider) and not offline. Whoever has an online ticket, they have to collect printed tickets from Gymkhana on 21st,” Rao told RTV.

Free tickets to soldiers and students on Republic Day

Furthermore, to celebrate Republic Day on January 26, the association also announced that free tickets will be given to Indian soldiers and children on the prestigious day. Additionally, the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) stated that they will be sending 10,000 school students for experiencing the fixture live from the venue.

“Since January 26 is a special occasion, it is a gift from my side to invite soldiers for the game. Soldiers along with their families are welcome. We have invited a minimum of 2000–3000 members. We have given free passes. The target is especially Govt schools,” Jagan Mohan Rao further said.

It is worth noting that the Indian team will face off against England in a five-game Test series, and the matches could go a long way in deciding the side’s standings in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table, and after their recent series draw against South Africa, the Rohit Sharma-led side will be hoping for a favourable outcome.
