IND vs NZ: India squad announced, Jasprit Bumrah designated vice-captain
Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mayank Yadav and Prasidh Krishna are the travelling reserves for the three-match series against the BlackCaps.
The All India Men's Selection Committee has picked India's 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match Test series against New Zealand.
The Indian team will be led by Rohit Sharma, and there hasn't been a single change from India's squad for Bangladesh Test series. However, this time the BCCI has announced the squad alongside a designated vice-captain in the form of Jasprit Bumrah.
The top-order will see the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli alongside Rohit, whereas, Sarfaraz Khan has also found a place. KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Dhruv Jurel are the three wicketkeeping options for the Indian side.
Ravindra Jadeja, Ravinchandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel are the three spin-bowling all-rounders, whereas Kuldeep Yadav is another left-arm spinner among the fifteen. Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and Bumrah will be spearheading the pace department for the Rohit Sharma-led side.
Bumrah will be Rohit's deputy, which now also suggests that the star pacer might lead the side if Rohit is absent for a part of the Australian tour, reported by multiple sources.
