India cricketer Rajeshwari Gayakwad engaged in an altercation in supermarket

India women’s team cricketer, Rajeshwari Gayakwad was involved in a heated altercation with a shopkeeper at a supermarket in Vijayapura. She had visited the supermarket to buy some cosmetics when the argument took place.

It is understood that the cricketer was not pleased over the price of some products she was to purchase and went to the in-charge of the supermarket. During the discussion over the price, the conversation quickly escalated in which the two shared a heated exchange of words.

Furthermore, the cricketer’s friends who immediately came to the place were seen to be barging into the shop and even thrashed the owner. The entire incident was caught on CCTV as the staff of the supermarket were initially intending to share the footage with police to file a complaint.

Issue amicably resolved between the two parties

At first, both the cricketer and the staff of the supermarket were to register a police complaint against each other. However, the two parties have amicably resolved the matter without blowing things further out of proportion according to India TV.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad was part of the national setup that reached the final of the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup. The left arm spinner also relished recording her best bowling figures for the Women in Blue in the same event. The cricketer made her debut in international cricket in an ODI match against Sri Lanka on 19 January 2014.

Moreover, the spinner last took part in the summit clash of the recently concluded Senior Women's T20 Challenger Trophy. She represented India D as the side clinched the title to India A winning the contest by 7 wickets and an over remaining. In her stipulated four overs, she helped scalp two wickets and gave 21 runs at an economy of 5.25.
