In a bid to level the series, the Men in Blue, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, are gearing up for a match against Aiden Markram's Proteas in the third and final T20 International at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, on Thursday, December 14.

The second T20I encounter, held on Tuesday, saw India facing a 5-wicket defeat (DLS method). This followed the abandonment of the series opener in Durban due to rain. Despite a valiant effort in the second game, where skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh propelled India to a total of 180/7, rain intervened, and a revised target of 153 was successfully chased down by the Proteas.

As the final T20I of the series approaches, both teams are hopeful for an uninterrupted contest at the Wanderers Stadium before heading into the three-match ODI series over the weekend. The renowned venue in Johannesburg has witnessed encounters between these two cricketing giants four times before, with India claiming victory twice and South Africa once. The last meeting at this venue occurred five years ago. Talking about the overall T20I records at Johannesburg, India have played five matches, securing victory in three and facing defeat in two. On the other hand, South Africa boast a 14-10 record at this venue.
