But opener KL Rahul showcased endurance in the face of the South African pacers' ferocious spells.

In the midst of the mayhem, India's new number four Suryakumar Yadav showed no interest in adopting a cautious stance as he came out and pummelled Anrich Nortje for back-to-back sixes. The two kept going till the end and took India over the finish line to win the first contest by eight wickets in Thiruvananthapuram.
