Team India has reached the summit clash of the T20 World Cup 2024, defeating England in the second semi-final. The side will be taking on the unbeaten South Africa in the ultimate clash of the mega event for a shot at the title.

India have been quite successful in ICC tournaments as of late, and despite not winning any major titles, India have performed well under the coaching of Rahul Dravid. The side reached the WTC 2023 final, the ODI World Cup 2023 final, and now the T20 World Cup 2024 final.

The Men in Blue lost their last two ICC finals, but they will hope that the same will not be the case against South Africa. Ahead of the clash, Rahul Dravid came forward to talk about his side’s performances and hailed them for their consistency.

"I think it's good that we are consistent and playing good cricket. For many years, especially in the last year, like you said, being number one in all three formats, playing in the finals, is a good thing. It gives a lot of credit to the boys, a lot of boys who are Test cricketers, who are our one-day players and also our T20 players. So, the Indian cricket has shown a lot of consistency and it is a very happy thing. And what you asked later, that if we play well and if we have the rub of the green, then we will win," Dravid said at the pre-match press conference as quoted by India Today.

We are ready for the game: Dravid

Furthermore, Rahul Dravid also talked about the side’s preparation for the World Cup final. It is worth noting that India had to cancel their practice session due to the short turnaround ahead of the summit clash, and the head coach highlighted the importance of staying mentally and physically fit.

"Look I think in terms of just our preparation we've got a flight later tonight probably get back late into Barbados we've just got one day in the middle so it's unlikely we're going to be having a practice. It's just about all the guys getting into ensuring that physically, mentally, tactically we are ready for the game,” Dravid said.
