Virat Kohli is dominating the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 as India has top slot in the Super 12 Group 2 with six points from the opening four games. But India or any other team from Group 2 is yet to secure a place in the semi-final round as the race has heated up before the final group-stage fixtures. Apart from India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh are also in the race for the top-two finish in the group.

India face Zimbabwe in their last group-stage fixture and a win or a point will confirm their place in the semi-finals. But, the results of other clashes in the same group will also decide India's chances going forward.

From Group 1, New Zealand have secured a place in the semi-final round with seven points but Australia and England will be competing for the second spot on Saturday (November 5). England are clashing with Sri Lanka in their last group-stage match and a win will guide them to the semi-final round while a win for Sri Lanka will benefit Australia.

Virat Kohli looks at himself as an athlete: Deep Dasgupta

The Indian team will be keeping a close eye on the England-Sri Lanka clash as they might be facing England in the potential semi-final round. Kohli, who is leading the scoring charts in the tournament with 220 runs from just four innings, is celebrating his 34th birthday on Saturday. He received praises for his remarkable fitness standards from the former cricketer Deep Dasgupta during the BatBricks7 presents Run Ki RunNeeti pre-match show on CricTracker.

"Virat Kohli's impact on Indian cricket is humongous, leave aside his numbers which are phenomenal. But the impact he has had on Indian cricket in terms of fitness and how he approaches professionalism, which was already there in Indian cricket, but the mindset is totally different. Cricket is so evolved now and is always evolving, and in one area, maybe, Indian cricket was lacking a fitness and fielding side of things before Kohli's impact."

"He looks at himself as an athlete as cricket demands a different fitness skillset compared to other sports. I am so glad that he has got his mojo back and he is in really good mind space where he ruled the world cricket," Dasgupta said in the pre-match show.
