A picture has taken the internet by storm in which a member of the ground staff can be seen touching Chennai Super Kings' skipper MS Dhoni's feet. MS Dhoni's popularity in India and around the world recognises no boundaries and has attained cult status by virtue of his achievements.

This is not the first time that someone has been captured touching Dhoni's feet on the cricket field. Recently playback singer Arijit Singh also touched the former India captain's feet in a touching gesture during the opening ceremony of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Even during his playing days for India, there were several instances when even spectators made their way onto the field to seek blessings from the legendary athlete as he enjoys an unprecedented fan following.

MS Dhoni  in pursuit of record-fifth IPL title

After losing their first game of the ongoing season against Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings came back to the winning ways soon as they trumped Lucknow Super Giants in their second game of the season on their home turf at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Dhoni's team has been battling its death bowling woes and is still in a search of a death bowler that could bail them out of crisis at the death. They have thrown their weights behind Tushar Deshpande as the right-arm pacer from Mumbai is learning it the hard way with every game in the ongoing season.

Even in the first game of the season at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Chennai were in control for the majority of the contest but failed to capitalise on the key moments towards the end and conceded the game. Left with no other option, Dhoni asked Deepak Chahar to bowl the penultimate over to the match but to Chennai's despair, the latter fell prey to Rashid Khan as the Afghan all-rounder got under his skin.
