IPL 2023: Harbhajan Singh, Sreesanth reunite as commentators
Harbhajan Singh, Sreesanth and Mohammad Kaif were announced as part of the commentary team ahead of the 2023 IPL
The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is set to begin on March 31, and fans are buzzing with anticipation as they await the return of the world's largest T20 league. The first game of the tournament will see the defending champions Gujarat Titans take on Chennai Super Kings on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Ahead of the start of the 2023 IPL, former India bowlers Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth teamed up for the competition as both will be doing commentary for Star Sports. Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the tournament, released a video announcing Sreesanth, Harbhajan Singh, and Mohammad Kaif as part of the commentary team ahead of the 2023 IPL.
The decision to team up Harbhajan Singh with Sreesanth has brought plenty of delight for the supporters of the game, as the duo have put behind the infamous ‘slapgate’, when Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth after one of the IPL matches in 2008.
Back in 2008, Harbhajan used to play for Mumbai Indians, whereas Sreesanth used to play for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). Both players also reportedly did not talk to each other for a long time after the incident. However, the recent video appears to show that both the former India bowlers have buried the past.
The 2023 IPL kicks off on March 31
With the excitement for the upcoming edition of the IPL building up, fans are up for a blast thanks to many significant changes to almost every aspect of the competition. With the addition of the impact player rule, several new additions to the squads, and a gripping commentary line-up, the 16th edition of the competition shows a lot of promise.
