IPL 2023: Joshua Little to reunite with Gujarat Titans following conclusion of Ireland’s ODI series against Bangladesh
Josh Little will take part in Ireland's three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.
Gujarat Titans pacer Joshua Little is set to leave the camp as he will take part in Ireland’s ODI series against Bangladesh, which is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, May 9. It is understood that the Irish pacer will reunite with the Titans after the conclusion of the series.
Notably, Ireland will square off against the Bangla Tigers in a three-match ODI series on May 9 and will conclude on Sunday, May 14. Vikram Solanki, Director of Cricket-Gujarat Titans, confirmed the pacer’s momentary exit, citing national duty.
“We wish Josh (Little) the best as he heads back to represent Ireland in the ODIs. He has had a good run in his first Tata Indian Premier League, and we look forward to welcoming him back once he finishes the ODI series,” said Vikram Solanki, Director of Cricket-Gujarat Titans, as quoted by Sportstar.
The pacer has had a decent season as he has bagged six wickets in eight outings thus far in the ongoing IPL 2023, with his best spell being 2/25. In his most recent outing against the Rajasthan Royals, Little got the prized scalp of skipper Sanju Samson and concluded with economical figures of 1/24 in his four in Titans’ comprehensive win.
Gujarat Titans sit atop points table
Speaking about their campaign, the defending champions have maintained their form from the previous season, winning seven of their ten outings thus far. Placed in the first position in the IPL Points Table with 14 points and a solid Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.752, Hardik Pandya and Co. are well on course to cement a berth in the playoffs.
Rashid Khan’s brilliance with the ball against Royals, taking three scalps for 14 runs in his four coupled with a disciplined bowling performance, helped Titans brush aside the runners-up of 2022. With four group matches to go, Hardik’s Titans will look to consolidate the top spot and aim to retain their title on the trot.
