Here's what the men who matter said:

Daryl Mitchell: Obviously really nice to get over the line on what is a slow wicket. Nice to get the win and we go again. The way the boys bowled up top, put pressure on them and restricted them was great. The spinners did a great job in the middle. I'm not sure what number was par, it's harder in day games. It's just working in partnerships. For me when I come in, recognising the new ball is the best time to bat. Rutu was there at the end and did an amazing job. It's having communication with each other, matchups and knowing who you can take down. It is about constantly adapting. Always happy, it's pretty cool to play in front of a crowd like this. Noise like this makes us feel lucky.

Sanju Samson: I think after the powerplay the message was slow and two paced. Hence after the powerplay the score we were expecting was 170, we were short 20-25 runs. Simarjeet bowled really well. We are not really sure what to expect from away games. We thought batting first was the better option. They had a better idea of what to chase being used to playing here, we thought it would have been slower in the second innings, but the wicket was instead better. When you play at night chasing is a no brainer due to the dew. The pitch gets heated up during summers so I expected the wicket to slow down in the second innings. It's normal to keep on thinking about qualification, need to focus on what is under our control. I would like to tell my team mates need to focus on things that are in our hand. Need to focus on the process and hope to win the next game.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continue their ongoing IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 campaign by taking on Rajasthan Royals (RR). Both sides lock horns at the renowned MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the 61st game of the tournament on Sunday, May 12. With 12 matches played, the defending champions find themselves in fourth place in the standings with six wins and six losses.

The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side currently has 12 points to their name and has a net run rate of 0.491. The five-time champions are coming off a 35-run defeat in their previous game against Gujarat Titans. However, the side will look to put the loss behind them and hope that they can produce a different outcome in their upcoming game

On the other hand, RR sits in second place in the standings. With 11 matches played, the inaugural champions have won eight matches and lost the remaining three. The side will be coming into the game after losing their last two games against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals, respectively.

It is also worth noting that if RR manage to defeat CSK, the Sanju Samson-led side will once again sit atop the IPL 2024 standings with 18 points to their name in 12 matches, and will become the first time to officially qualify for the playoffs.
