IPL 2024 Qualifications Scenario: How can Royal Challengers Bengaluru qualify for Playoffs after losing to MI in Match 25
After a humiliating loss against Mumbai Indians on Thursday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru face an uphill task to make it to the final four stages of IPL 2024.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s bowlers were cut to size by the marauding Mumbai Indians batters. The Wankhede Stadium turned into a horror show for Faf du Plessis who saw his team lost the game with 4.3 overs left to play despite scoring 196 runs.

Each of the Mumbai Indians batters who came out made sure that they took the bull by its horns. The foundation was laid by Ishan Kishan whose 69 runs came off a mere 34 balls. Suryakumar Yadav then hit the final nail in the coffin scoring 52 runs from 19 balls.
With this loss, the Bengaluru-based franchise has now slipped to the ninth place in the IPL 2024 Points Table with just a single win from 6 games played so far. This has put their qualification for the Playoffs in a huge jeopardy, as they now find themselves backed to a tight corner.

Is the dream over for Royal Challengers Bengaluru this year?
The loss to Mumbai Indians on Thursday does create serious pressure on RCB to make it to the final four. After six matches, they ideally would have hoped to win a minimum of three games to keep in touch with the top half of the table.
Bengaluru face some tough games in the next few weeks which could have serious impact on their title challenge this year. Sunrisers Hyderabad are due to visit the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday, which would be RCB’s seventh game of the season.
If they lose that one then they would have to win all their remaining 7 games and hope other results go their way. Pat Cummins and Hyderabad are playing some amazing cricket and have won two games in a row.
Post the game against SRH, there is a trip to the Eden Gardens to take on Kolkata Knight Riders. RCB very well know what KKR can do with the bat and ball after the thrashing they got in front of their own home fans. The key will be to win these two matches and keep in touch with the other mid-table teams.
RCB will then fly to Hyderabad to play the return fixture against SRH before playing Gujarat Titans twice inside a week. Playing the Titans home and away will not be an easy task, the Shubman Gill-led side showed with their win against RR.
The last three games of the season for RCB are against the Punjab Kings at Dharamshala, followed by a home game against Delhi Capitals. Out of these 7 games, RCB have to win a maximum of 6 matches and get to 14 points.
The final game of the season will also be a home game as the Chennai Super Kings come visiting. Playing CSK home or away is never easy, as the defending champions have a vast talent that can steam roll any opposition. Anything less seven wins out of the 8 games left can draw curtains on RCB's IPL 2024 journey, much to the disappointment of their fans.
