It was a very poor campaign for the Gujarat Titans this time around as they finished 8th on the points table. With the absence of Mohammed Shami hampering the team all season long, they should have tried Joshua Little for a fair few matches. The Irish pacer started a single game throughout the tournament and scalped four wickets for 45 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He would have done the job of scalping early wickets which was the task given to Shami for the previous seasons and might be a trick missed by the Gujarat Titans.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad had an outstanding campaign as they finished runners-up after facing defeat in the final of the tournament. The team management should have given Rahul Tripathi an opportunity earlier in the tournament after some poor performances by Aiden Markram and Mayank Aggarwal. The Team India batter showed his class during the playoffs and led the team's batting in two of the three playoff matches after the fall of early wickets.
