IPL 2025: Rajasthan Royals turn down match-fixing allegations by RCA
Deep Roy, RR's senior official, rejected all match-fixing allegations made against the inaugural champions in 2025.
Team Rajasthan Royals has reacted to the match-fixing allegations from Jaydeep Bihani, the Rajasthan Cricket Association ad hoc committee's convener. Bihani suspected RR of losing intentionally in the match against LSG and even doubted a ball tampering sequence.
Deep Roy, a senior official at the franchise, spoke on behalf of his team with a statement claiming Bihani's statements were baseless, false, and lacked evidence. Roy further claimed that statements made by the RCA ad hoc committee's convener could hamper the reputation of the franchise, the Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMSPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council (RSC), and the Indian cricket board as well.
"We reject all allegations made by the convener of the ad hoc committee. Such public statements are not only misleading but have caused serious damage to the reputation and credibility of the Rajasthan Royals, the RMPL, the RSC, and the BCCI. They also tarnish the integrity of cricket," Roy claimed as per the NDTV Sports' report.
Jaydeep Bihani's accusations on the Rajasthan Royals
RR has reportedly filed a complaint against Jaydeep's statement with the state Chief Minister, Sports Minister, and the Sports Secretary as well, and sought to take action against him. RR has had an 18-year partnership with RCA, which adheres to the BCCI guidelines. As per BCCI, RSC has the right to host RR's matches in the IPL 2025 in Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
RR confirmed to be working in coordination with the apex cricketing body in the country and the state's sports council, helping to bring the IPL to the Pink City. In his statement, Bihani had noted that the association had successfully hosted big international matches and tournaments. He had also accused RSC of keeping the ad hoc committee away from the league.
"The ad hoc committee has been appointed by the state government in Rajasthan. After analysing our work, we were given an extension for the fifth time. During our tenure, we’ve conducted all competitions successfully right from the district level to the national level," said Jaydeep Bihani told News18 Rajasthan during an interview.
