Well, that was an emphatic day of cricket. A total of 84 players went under the hammer, and teams did not hesitate splurging crores of money to bag the services of their desired ones. This edition of the auction broke several records for the highest bids made for a player.
But wait! The job is not all done. The second day on Monday, November 25 at Jeddah will once again see a list of names stand themselves a chance for bringing curtains to the event before the teams complete their squads and then take centre stage between March and May 2025.

There were plenty of surprises in store for cricket enthusiasts as the auction dynamics brought up intriguing scenarios.
The wicketkeeper-batter was roped in by Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping INR 27 crore. Meanwhile, IPL 2024-winning captain Shreyas Iyer joined Punjab Kings for INR 26.75 crore. Venkatesh Iyer (INR 23.75 crore) reunited with Kolkata Knight Riders, while Arshdeep Singh (INR 18 crore) and Yuzvendra Chahal (INR 18 crore) joined Punjab Kings. These five players were the top buys on the first day.
There will be plenty of action on Day 2 as there multiple star players will be up for grabs. All eyes will be on the iconic James Anderson, who will go under the hammer for the first time. Names of legendary batters like Steve Smith and Kane Williamson are also going to appear on Monday. Meanwhile, star Indian cricketers like Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar and many others will be available to the teams.
