Ishan Kishan made a remarkable comeback after being left out of the BCCI’s central contract earlier this year. The southpaw was ousted due to his unavailability for the domestic season. However, the wicketkeeper-batter notched up tons in Buchi Babu's pre-season tournament and recently concluded Duleep Trophy.

With the talks of his potential India comeback on the rise, several reports suggested that he might be included in the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. Moreover, the subsequent Test series against New Zealand could also be a much-awaited chance. According to reports from HT, Rishabh Pant might be rested for the Bangladesh T20I series which opens the door for other wicketkeeper-batters.

In the absence of Pant, Sanju Samson is the backup wicketkeeping option for India as the latter had travelled to West Indies for the T20 World Cup 2024. When it comes to Tests, Dhruv Jurel is the first choice other than Pant, and Ishan misses out on the berth in the playing XI. These possibilities abstain the 26-year-old from a potential place in the playing XI in the upcoming fixtures.
