Star India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant was involved in a horrific car accident in December 2022. The 26-year-old sustained many horrible injuries due to the accident and missed playing cricket for more than a year. The batter missed the entirety of the IPL 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023.

Rishabh Pant was lucky enough to survive the crash, as he was rescued from the accident scene and was rushed to a nearby hospital before getting airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment. The doctors predicted a 2-3-year-long recovery, but his willpower helped him recover much faster.

Recently, Pant came forward to talk about his accident, revealing what the doctors told him about his injuries, and how it could have led to an amputation as well.

“So the doctor came to me and said, ‘Rishabh, you need to do three miracles two of which you have already done’. I didn’t have any idea about my life then (he quipped), so I was listening to it thoroughly. He said, ‘Firstly, you are alive after such a gruesome accident’,” Pant said to India TV on the famous talk show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’.

“My right leg bent opposite by 90 degrees. I don’t how my instinct worked, I asked a guy who was there at the spot to hold it and I twisted it back to its position. So the doctor said, ‘Secondly, your leg. Had you not done it, it would have led to an amputation,’” he added.

I assured the doctor that I would go through this as well: Pant

Furthermore, Pant also pointed out that the doctors told him that his ACL and CL would not require surgery and that none of the ligaments were left in his knees.

“The third miracle he said that the ACL and PCL won’t require surgery if they heel themselves. None of the ligaments were left in my knees but I assured the doctor that I would go through this as well. Ultimately, it happened,” Pant said.
