'He has made sure to walk the talk and give India a good start' - Dinesh Karthik commends Rohit Sharma's selfless approach
Rohit has hit four half-centuries in his last five ODI innings.
India skipper Rohit Sharma is known for his explosive batting and has managed to give good starts to the team in recent games. He is playing an aggressive brand of cricket, which suits his style of batting and isn’t compromising on what he said earlier. The 36-year-old clearly mentioned that for the success of the team, he will try to give a rapid start, so that the middle-order batters can capitalize and help the team post a good total on the board.
Stumper-batter Dinesh Karthik feels that Rohit has made sure to walk the talk and added that the opener doesn’t care about the runs he scored, he just wants to win the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is slated to begin on October 5. The veteran cricketer also reminded that Rohit was the leading run-scorer in the last edition of the tournament and he will try to be that aggressive in the upcoming season as well.
“He is somebody who has changed his game so much. He was the highest run-getter in the 2019 World Cup. Even if he gets half the runs, I don't think he will care. He has said himself that he doesn't care about the runs he gets. It's all about trying to win this World Cup. The one that he has made sure is to walk the talk. He is always in a hurry to get Team India off to a good start and putting the opponent bowlers to rest,” Karthik told CricBuzz.
Rohit Sharma is made for big things: Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik believes that Rohit Sharma is destined to achieve big things in his life. He also added that this could very well be the cricketer’s last ODI World Cup and hence, could give his all.
“He (Rohit Sharma) is made for big things and has achieved a lot in his career. In many ways, this could be his last ODI World Cup. He's been a very close friend of mine. We have literally grown together as players and as people,” Karthik stated.
