Rinku Singh scored 474 runs in 14 matches, at an average of 59.25 and strike rate of 149.53, in the recently-concluded IPL 2023 season. He finished some matches single-handedly for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with some lusty blows under pressure, winning the hearts of fans and experts alike.

The diminutive batter was recently spotted at the iconic Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, watching a Premier Handball League match involving Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan Patriots, on Friday, June 16.

The talented youngster was there to show support for his home team – the Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh. He said he was happy to be at the stadium supporting his home side. Rinku also revealed that he has been dedicatedly following the inaugural season of the Premier Handball League from the first game itself and hopes that it will help take the sport to new heights going forward.

"Handball is such a dynamic sport and is a treat to watch live. I am glad to be here and support my home team, the Golden Eagles," said Rinku as quoted by My Khel.

"I have been following the Premier Handball League since the first matchday and all the matches have been highly entertaining. I am sure the league will help elevate the status of the sport in the nation and will also help India extract its true potential in Handball," he added.

The Golden Eagles suffered a 27-36 defeat against Rajasthan in the match. They have just one win in six matches and occupy the bottom spot on the points table.

Rinku Singh in line to get India call-up

After winning multiple games for KKR in IPL 2023, from improbable situations, the 25-year-old Rinku Singh earned praise from a seasoned finisher like Andre Russell. Who could forget Rinku's heroics in the last over of the game in Ahmedabad where he hit Gujarat Titans' seamer Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes to seal victory for his team? After a successful IPL season, Rinku seems destined for some great news with national team callup seeming just round the corner for the Aligarh-born.
