KL Rahul is such a big player, just one hit got back his confidence and momentum: Nikhil Chopra
India will aim for the two points against Zimbabwe in their final Super 12 outing to seal a semi-final berth.
Rohit Sharma-led team India managed to earn two points off the clash against Bangladesh in the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. KL Rahul got the side off to a great start with the bat in the first innings as the opener scored a 32-ball 50 at a strike rate 156.25 which was followed by Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 64 off 44 balls that guided the side to attain a total of 184 runs.
Former India cricketer Nikhil Chopra was elated over the comeback performance displayed by KL Rahul against the Bangla Tigers and stated how just one good knock brought back all of his confidence in the game.
“We were all waiting for this. KL Rahul is such a big player, just one hit got back his confidence and momentum. I think it was that square cut shot over point for six that completely shifted momentum towards his side, and he didn’t look back from that point. He hit more sixes today showing his real strength and his positive mindset which he is known for that came out well in his natural game,” said Nikhil Chopra on 'BatBricks7 presents Run Ki Runneeti' show on CricTracker.
Batters are in good form: Nikhil Chopra
The former cricketer further added that with the form the side is slowly attaining, they could add a lot of threat if the side will make it to the last four of the marquee tournament.
"I’m very happy that for the coming fixtures, the batters in the squad are in good form. So, a menacing team seems to be building up ahead of the semi-finals,” added Chopra.
India have nearly cemented their spot in the semi-finals but just to be on the safer side, they will look for the win against Zimbabwe that will officially confirm the berth. Rohit Sharma and Co. play the African side in their final outing of the Super 12 stage at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday, November 06.
