Kuldeep Yadav 'not sure' about his Rajkot Test inclusion
"I am not (even) sure of my position because there are two days left for the game. If I get the opportunity, I will be more than happy," Kuldeep said.
The Indian team is all set to take on England in the third Test of the ongoing five-game series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot from February 15. With the first two Tests of the series done and dusted and the scores level, the Indian team faces quite a dilemma ahead of the third clash.
With the potential return of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the squad, team India will have to choose between Kuldeep Yadav, Jadeja, and R Ashwin ahead of the clash in Rajkot.
With four wickets in the second Test of the series, Kuldeep’s performance in Vizag was crucial to the Indian team in winning the clash and levelling the series.
Speaking of the same, Kuldeep opined that even he is sure of his position in the Indian lineup for the third Test and that he is not thinking too much about it as well.
"I am not (even) sure of my position because there are two days left for the game. If I get the opportunity, I will be more than happy. I do not think too much about if I am playing or not - I just enjoy my day and keep working hard and that is my process," Kuldeep was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
I haven't played on rank turners: Kuldeep
Furthermore, Kuldeep Yadav also talked about how he regrets not playing many Test matches on home soil. It is interesting to note that Kuldeep has played only nine Tests, with four of them being at home.
"I haven't played on rank turners. I did not play in the last series (the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in February-March last year) at home. So, I do not know what our approach or thinking would be. It is basically the team management's decision. Obviously, all of you also want to watch good cricket. For good cricket, it's important (that the wickets are good)," Kuldeep said.
