Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper, Faf du Plessis, expressed that Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have a ‘well-balanced’ squad ahead of their clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The two sides will square off in match 15 of the IPL 2023 on Monday, April 10.

Notably, RCB endured a mixed start to their season as they have won one and lost as many in two outings. On the other hand, KL Rahul and Co. have obtained two wins in three matches thus far. Ahead of their third fixture in the ongoing season, skipper du Plessis emphasized that his side will need to up their game and put on a strong performance against a well-rounded LSG team.

“LSG have a very well-balanced squad. When you have a blank canvas at the auction, you can pretty much set up a team really well from a balanced perspective. They are a very good team, so we have to be at the top of our game as well," du Plessis said on 'RCB Game Day'.

You can sometimes overanalyse things after heavy defeats: Faf du Plessis

RCB were handed a massive defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens by 81 runs. For the unversed, KKR posted a humongous total of 204 runs upon which Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli got off to a brisk start in the chase.

However, what followed was sheer domination from the spinners- Sunil Narine, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Suyash Sharma. The spin trio added nine wickets between them which decked the rival line-up and restricted them to a meagre 123 runs. The RCB skipper further added that the team is looking to improve on various aspects but highlighted that after big losses, it becomes easier to speculate on things.

"We want to look at areas where we can be a little bit better. I think it is always important whether you are winning or losing. Let us just look at areas where you feel like we can improve, but also identify the areas in which you are doing well. After some matches, like the heavy defeat last time, you can sometimes overanalyse things,” du Plessis concluded.
