MS Dhoni has taught me a lot, nobody knows more about T20 cricket than him: Simarjeet Singh
“I just want to learn and when senior India players come and play domestic cricket. We get to learn a lot for them,” Simarjeet Singh said.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Simarjeet Singh expressed his gratitude to MS Dhoni, revealing that the legendary wicketkeeper-batter's guidance helped him improve his craft in T20 cricket.
The right-arm seamer is having a splendid run in the inaugural Delhi Premier League (DPL) as he is the leading wicket-taker, having bagged 15 scalps for East Delhi Riders. He lauded Dhoni's knowledge of the shortest format of the game and spoke about how he emphasises keeping things simple.

“MS Dhoni has helped me to develop myself as a better T20 bowler. I don’t think nobody else knows more about T20 cricket than him,” the 26-year-old was quoted as saying by Sportstar. “He (MS Dhoni) has taught me a lot; it’s not just one thing he has helped me with. We keep asking him for advice, and he always simplifies things by saying playing simple cricket is the best."
The BCCI has instructed all Indian players to make themselves available to play domestic cricket. This means that a lot of senior cricketers will be returning to play for their domestic sides and Simarjeet is looking forward to picking their brains.
“I just want to learn and when senior India players come and play domestic cricket. We get to learn a lot for them,” he said.
Ahead of the mega auction in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Simarjeet wants to hone his skills and become a better version of himself.
“I just want to play cricket. My focus is on contributing wherever I’m selected and growing as a cricketer with whichever franchise picks me,” he stated.

Simarjeet, one of the senior statesmen in the East Delhi Riders' squad, said that the DPL will provide a great platform for the younger players to catapult themselves to contention for state call-ups.
“Youngsters come to me and plan their strategies for every game. I think it is a very good opportunity for players in Delhi to showcase their skills and talent and earn a maiden domestic call up,” the Delhi-born concluded.
