“The most influence I think obviously came from my father, the way we used to live in the village first, where he used to practice. After that, there was such a big change when we moved to the city. After that, we practised there, and everything I learned there, and that one change in my life, after that, both my father and my parents were always on my side, so everything influenced me a lot,” Gill spoke exclusively Star Sports.

Emphasizing the essence of trust in both cricketing challenges and life experiences, the cricketer recalled Indian head coach Rahul Dravid's invaluable advice on believing in one's abilities. He underscored the significance of trusting one's instincts and staying true to one's game plan, irrespective of external circumstances.

“The advice that I felt was always to trust, whether it's in the game or in life. Rahul sir told me that you always have to trust your game, no matter what the situation is, whatever you've prepared for, always trust it, always trust your instinct, whether it's up to India A or even to India,” the ace batter added.
