In a significant turn of cricketing focus for 2024, the T20 World Cup is set to take center stage after last year's ODI emphasis. The ICC has tentatively scheduled this showdown from June 4 to June 30, slated to unfold in the vibrant landscapes of the West Indies and the USA. While the exact match lineup remains pending, former England skipper Nasser Hussain has ventured his predictions on the finalists and ultimate champions.

Highlighting England's recent struggles in white-ball cricket, Hussain foresaw them to secure a spot in the final. However, despite their defending champions' status, he envisaged them to finish as runners-up this time around. His gaze of favouritism fell upon South Africa as he tipped them as the prime contenders to seize their maiden World Cup title in history. The previous edition saw England clinch victory as they triumphed over Pakistan in a gripping final.

"I haven't thought too much about this actually...but I'm going to go with South Africa. England are (reigning) champions, but not playing particularly well at the moment. It's in the Caribbean and West Indies are going OK, then you have Pakistan, so can I choose all of these sides? I'm going to go for South Africa versus England in the final," Hussain said as quoted by ICC.

The person for the world to watch out for at the moment in T20 is SKY: Hussain

With teams boasting remarkable white-ball talents, South Africa will stand poised for potential Player of the Tournament contenders at the upcoming T20 World Cup, but the cricketer turned commentator differs. However, Hussain tips India's top-ranked T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav, to further embellish his stellar record and clinch the prestigious accolade to further enhance his already impressive T20I portfolio.

"The person for the world to watch out for at the moment in T20 is Suryakumar Yadav. I mean, the bloke is a freak. The cliche of Mr. 360, but some of the shots he plays...and he is a bit of a freak because in fifty-overs cricket, he does not quite know when to go, when not to go, what to do. But in T20 cricket, he absolutely knows what to do every single time almost, and it is a fun game, T20 cricket and watching SKY, that is absolutely fun," Hussain added.
