NZ vs IND T20I Series 2022: New Zealand vs India Weather Forecast and Pitch Report of Sky Stadium (Wellington)
Rain threat looms large over the 1st T20I scheduled to be played at the Sky Stadium in Wellington.
The stage is once again set for the semi-finalists of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 as India cross swords with New Zealand in a three-match T20I series commencing from Friday, November 18. Both sides are still fresh from the World Cup failure but will be eager to get over the disappointing campaign and win the series.
Speaking about their head-to-head records, India hold slight upper hand on the Kiwis as they have won 11 games out of the 20 T20Is played between both oppositions and the Black Caps have bagged victory in nine games. Skippers of both sides, Hardik Pandya and Kane Williamson will look to get the better of each other as the road to the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup begins now.
The first of the three T20I matches is scheduled to take place at the Sky Stadium in Wellington. Moreover, with New Zealand hosting the series, the venue remains a tricky place for cricket teams to tour because of the pitch and weather conditions in the Antipodean nation. Since the Sky Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium they use a drop-in wicket at the venue. It tends to favour the batters a bit more than the bowlers but has enough in it to keep the seamers interested.
82% chance of showers during the day
The match between the giants is scheduled to begin at 7.30 pm (local time) (12.00 pm IST) on Friday, November 18 at the Wellington Regional Stadium (Sky Stadium). According to the latest predictions by ‘AccuWeather’, there is a high probability of the match getting interrupted as a rain threat looms large over the venue.
The weather throughout the day is expected to have long periods of showers. Moreover, the cloud cover is predicted to be 100% with a humidity of 90% and the probability of precipitation being 82%.
However, towards the later half of the match, the weather is expected to remain cloudy but with a slight improvement in terms of the rain possibility as it may occur at irregular intervals. Adding to this, the wind speed is expected to be 39 km/h, therefore, the ambience will remain breezy throughout.
