ODI World Cup 2023: PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf set to visit India on October 12
The high-octane clash between India and Pakistan will be contested on Saturday, October 14, in Ahmedabad.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman, Zaka Ashraf, is set to travel to India to witness the much-awaited clash between Pakistan and India. The high-octane clash will be contested at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, on Saturday, October 14. After it was established that the media personnel had been given permission to submit their passports for an Indian visa to cover the ODI World Cup 2023, Ashraf made the decision to visit the neighbouring country. Notably, 60 journalists are expected to witness and cover the epic high-octane clash.
The chairman expressed his joy that his conversation with the foreign office had contributed to a successful result regarding the visa delay. Besides, the PCB chief is happy with how the Men in Green have fared in the ongoing World Cup so far. Speaking of the World Cup campaign, Pakistan have won back-to-back games which have given high hopes to the fans and Ashraf alike.
“I have delayed my travel to India, and I am travelling tomorrow after receiving confirmation that Pakistan’s journalists have been asked to submit their passports to obtain visas to cover the mega event. I am happy that my conversation with the foreign office helped in achieving a positive development regarding the visa delay," Ashraf was quoted as saying in a release by PCB.
Zaka Ashraf lauded Pakistan team for their good performance in ODI World Cup 2023
The Men in Green received additional accolades from Ashraf for their performances in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 thus far. He continued by saying that he would tell the Pakistani players to play a fearless game against India as they had been playing the entire competition. Moreover, the fans back home are backing the side to come out on top against the best teams in the world.
“I am extremely pleased with the way the players have performed so far in the World Cup, winning both matches. The PCB management committee and the entire nation stand firmly behind the players for a successful campaign in the ongoing World Cup. I am travelling to India to motivate the team, and my message to them before the India contest will be to play fearlessly as they have been playing throughout the event,” Ashraf further added.

Pakistan have performed admirably so far in the ongoing tournament. The Babar Azam-led side defeated Netherlands and Sri Lanka in their first and second match, respectively.
