One bad game here and there and I will suddenly be a bad captain: Rohit Sharma
India will take on Sri Lanka on November 2nd at Wankhede Stadium.
Rohit Sharma answered questions ahead of the India vs Sri Lanka World Cup match. The India captain laid emphasis on keeping a cool head and not let 6 wins get to their heads.
When a journalist quizzed Rohit about leading from example he said, "I know how this works, one bad game here and there and I will suddenly become a bad Captain".
'So I know how it works', smiled the Indian captain.
Shane Watson compares India with 2003's title-winning Australia squad
Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has likened the current Indian cricket team's prowess at the ICC World Cup 2023 to the invincible Australian side that clinched back-to-back titles in the 2003 and 2007 editions of the tournament.
Speaking to the Times of India, Watson said, "They exude a similar aura". He continued, "This team has absolutely no weakness, as was the case with the invincible Australian teams of the 2003 and 2007 World Cups. Just like that Aussie side, this team has quality world-class match-winners all around the team."
Watson was further impressed with the depth in India's squad. "Once I saw the balance of the Indian team and the form of the players after two games, this thought occurred to me. They have just been so incredibly dominant and have a great chance of going through the tournament undefeated. A team has to be at their brilliant best to challenge this Indian side," he remarked.
India are all set to take on struggling Sri Lanka in their 7th match of the World Cup 2023. Sri Lanka have been struggling in the tournament having won just two of their six matches so far. India meanwhile are cruising, having won all of their six matches in the tournament.
