PSL 2023: PCB announces match officials for T20 league
The 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League is set to begin on February 13.
Pakistan Cricket Board has released a list of match officials for the Pakistan Super League and it includes 14 umpires and five match referees. The eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League is set to get underway from 13th February 2023 and will last till 19th March 2023. The tournament will be held at four locations, namely Multan, Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The Board also announced the list of 15 commentators and two presenters for the 34-match tournament. Some of the match officials for the PSL are of high stature as experienced campaigners like Aleem Dar, Richard Illingworth and Michael Gough are all part of the ICC's elite panel of umpires. Umpires like Alex Wharf and Ruchira Palliyaguruge will be making their debut in the Pakistan Super League.
Two full production kits and crews will be running simultaneously for the smooth conduction of PSL 8. 30 cameras, together with spidercams and buggy cams will be used for HD broadcast coverage, enhancing the viewing experience for fans both inside and outside of Pakistan. A component of the Decision Review System (DRS) technology will be HawkEye and UltraEdge.
While Marina Iqbal and Tariq Saeed would provide commentary in Urdu, Alan Wilkins, Bazid Khan, Danny Morrison, Daren Ganga, Dominic Cork, Mark Butcher, Nick Knight, Sana Mir, Sikandar Bakht, Simon Doull, Urooj Mumtaz, Vernon Philander, and Waqar Younis will do commentary in English. The presenters will be Zainab Abbas and Erin Holland as announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The first match of the Pakistan Super League is set to be played between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars in Multan on February 13, 2023.
