"Their pace bowling unit is actually decent because they have lots of options. A good Indian fast bowler in the form of Arshdeep Singh," Aakash Chopra said.

The 17th edition of the IPL (Indian Premier League) is all set to kick off on March 22 and the ten franchises will look to put in their best performances in hopes of getting their hands on the coveted title. One team that will be desperate to win the big one would be the Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings.

Ahead of the new season, Punjab Kings will aim to depend on their bowling attack. With the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada and many others in their lineup, Punjab’s bowling lineup could be crucial to the side’s success in the tournament.

The same was the opinion of former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra. Analysing the side’s lineup ahead of the new season, Chopra opined that Punjab Kings’ bowling unit is decent.

"Their pace bowling unit is actually decent because they have lots of options. A good Indian fast bowler in the form of Arshdeep Singh and then Harshal Patel. So you get death bowlers in Harshal and Arshdeep and a new-ball bowler in Arshdeep," Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, Aakash Chopra named the fast bowlers in Punjab Kings’ lineup, with the side possessing a plethora of overseas pacers as well.

"You get three more bowlers in the form of Kagiso Rabada, Nathan Ellis, and Sam Curran, and you have Chris Woakes. So you have got a plethora of fast-bowling options. So this team's fast bowling is good, and we will keep it among their strengths," Chopra said.

Punjab Kings had a season to forget in the IPL 2023, missing out on the knockout stages of the competition, as they finished in eighth place in the standings with just six wins in the 14 games that they played. The side will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign by taking on Delhi Capitals in the second game of the tournament on Saturday, March 23.
