RCB Squad 2024 Player List: Complete Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Squad and Players List for WPL 2024

The highly anticipated Women's Premier League (WPL) auction for the upcoming second season got underway in Mumbai on Saturday, December 9. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who were eliminated in the knockout stage, losing to Mumbai Indians by four wickets at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai in the inaugural edition of the WPL, went into the auction with a total of 11 players in their team. RCB came in with a budget of INR 3.35 crore, have added seven players and completed their quota of 18 players. With the new squad, they will be eager to bounce back from 2023's setback and make a strong impact in the upcoming WPL edition.

Georgia Wareham, who was the first player from the all-rounders in Set 2 was Royal Challengers Bangalore's first buy in the mini-auction The opening bid of Rs 40 lakh turned out to be successful for the 24-year-old Australian star. Despite a bid battle for renowned South African seamer Shabnim Ismail, RCB lost to the defending champions Mumbai Indians.

Following that, RCB entered the bidding for England's seasoned pacer Kate Cross, ultimately winning her for a base price of INR 30 lakh. The team then had to outbid Gujarat Giants to secure the services of Ekta Bisht, the Khel Ratna Award winner, for INR 60 lakh. Subsequently, RCB and Gujarat Giants competed for the 20-year-old all-rounder Kashvee Gautam, but the former lost the bid.

RCB bolstered their squad by acquiring the uncapped Indian all-rounder Shubha Satheesh, a 24-year-old, for INR 10 lakh. Another addition to their Indian all-rounder contingent is S Meghana from Andhra Pradesh, secured for INR 30 lakh. Simran Bahadur, an Indian pacer, was sold to RCB for INR 30 lakh. The completion of the overseas quota for Smriti Mandhana's team came with the signing of Australian all-rounder Sophie Molineux for INR 30 lakh.

In the first WPL auction, star India batter Smriti Mandhana emerged as the most expensive bid of the tournament as well as RCB. Priced at a base of INR 50 lakhs, Mandhana was acquired by the franchise for a whopping INR 3.4 crore and appointed as their captain, a role she will continue in the next season. Other retained players in the RCB squad include Asha Shobana, Disha Kasat, Ellyse Perry, Heather Knight, Indrani Roy, Kanika Ahuja, Renuka Singh, Richa Ghosh, Shreyanka Patil, and Sophie Devine.
