Pandya won the toss and invited SRH to bat first. Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar bagged two wickets each inside the powerplay to deter the spirit of the home side. Aniket Verma also fell cheaply as Hyderabad lost half their side with 35 runs on the board in the ninth over. Heinrich Klaasen played a blinder of a knock and his 99-run partnership off 63 balls with Abhinav Manohar helped SRH put up a fighting total of 143/8.
In reply, Jaydev Unadkat dismissed Ryan Rickelton in the second over. However, Rohit Sharma and Will Jacks added 64 runs for the second wicket to put the five-time champions in a comfortable position. Jacks wasted a good start but Rohit went on to score an exhilarating half-century. Suryakumar Yadav put the finishing touches with a brisk cameo as MI won their fourth consecutive game to climb to No. 3 on the points table.

1. Boult, Chahar give MI early advantage with new-ball mastery
Boult and Chahar combined well to dismiss the first four batters in SRH's batting order. After being reduced to 13/4 in 4.1 overs, the 2016 champions were always behind the eight-ball. Boult came back to bowl the last over and picked up two more wickets to finish with excellent figures of 4/26 in his four overs.
2. Klaasen puts up brave fight against heavy odds
The South African wicketkeeper-batter was in no mood to throw in the white towel despite his teammates falling like nine pins at the top of the order. He smashed 71 runs off 44 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes. Klaasen almost single-handedly took SRH to a respectable total.

After struggling in the first half of the tournament, Rohit is showing his class, much to the delight of the MI management and fans. The 37-year-old had registered a half-century in MI's last game against Chennai Super Kings. He followed it up with another fifty against SRH on Wednesday. Rohit scored 70 off just 46 balls, belting eight fours and three sixes.
