Reports: Ravichandran Ashwin to receive special accolade from BCCI during Naman Awards

The BCCI is going to be holding the Naman awards tomorrow and this will feature some of the best international cricketers which were seen in the 2024 season. The last season has been brilliant for Indian cricket and the BCCI will be looking forward to celebrate the best performances of some of these iconic players. 

There are already some players who will be receiving these prestigious awards with Jasprit Bumrah who already being named as the ICC Men’s cricketer of the year will also be receiving the Polly Umrigar Best male International Cricketer of the year for his great performance and Smriti Mandhana will be receiving the award for the Best international cricketer of the year (Female) for smashing 743 runs in 2024. The other player who is reported to receive a special accolade from the board is Ravichandran Ashwin.

The spin bowling all-rounder retired from international cricket a month ago after the third Test that was played at Adelaide during the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The Tamil Nadu born cricketer has retired from the game as the second highest wicket taker in international cricket for Indian with 765 wickets from the 287 matches he has played and is also a two-time ICC trophy winner as well. There is not much revealed about the special award and the netizens will be interested to know about the accolade which will be given by the Indian board. 

Speaking of the other players who will also receive awards during this event are Sarfaraz Khan and Asha Shobhana for best international debut and Deepti Sharma will be receiving an award for returning with the most wickets in the 2023-24 season. 

God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar will also be receiving the CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement award in the ceremony for his incredible career and performances he had given during his entire 24-year career in international cricket scoring over 34000 runs across all formats of the game.
