As per recent speculations doing the rounds it has come to the fore that Team India skipper Rohit Sharma lost his iPhone before India clashed against Australia in the third ODI of the recently concluded series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Notably, the Hitman’s phone went missing when the veteran opener was practicing in the nets before the third ODI. The news of Rohit’s phone being missing quickly went viral over the internet as per MyKhel. However, the topic did not seem to bother the skipper too much, as he showcased his class against Australia in the final ODI.

It is worth noting that Rohit missed the first two ODIs of the series but returned for the final ODI in Rajkot and put forth a sensational performance in the clash. Despite India losing the game, Rohit made sure to make his impact known. Aiming to chase down a target of 353 runs, India only scored 286, Rohit was the highest run-getter for India with a score of 81 runs in 57 balls. However, it was not enough in the end as Australia won the game by 66 runs.

India take on Australia to kick off World Cup campaign

After having finished the 50-over series against Australia, Team India will be gearing up for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Hosting the marquee global event completely for the first time, the side will have unrivalled home support behind them. It is also worth noting that before the start of the ODI World Cup, India will compete in two warm-up matches against England and the Netherlands on September 30 and October 3, respectively.

Furthermore, they will take on Australia to begin their World Cup campaign on October 8, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, in Chennai. Defeating the side recently in the ODI series will help Team India prepare better on tactical fronts and they will be hopeful of a positive start to the marquee event. On the other hand, Australia, who only won one of the three ODIs against India, will be keen on doing better and will hope for a different result.
