Reports: Selectors to take final call on Jasprit Bumrah's availability for Champions Trophy on February 11
Bumrah has not played a game after the Sydney Test in January.
The Champions Trophy 2025 squad finalization deadline is February 11 and though most of the players in the Indian squad are already decided, the one player the fans and experts are curious about is Jasprit Bumrah who has been out of action for a while since the Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia.
The 31-year-old star had suffered a back injury during the final Test in Sydney which also resulted in him not being able to bowl in the second innings of the fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The latest updates don’t look good as the star pacer was also left out of the ODI series against England.
It is being said that he is still undergoing rehabilitation in Bengaluru and the BCCI is yet to confirm whether he will be playing in the upcoming ICC event.

According to ESPNcricinfo, the final decision on Bumrah's availability for the tournament will be taken on February 11. Bumrah has already had a scan on his back at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and the medical staff will now coordinate with the selectors and team management before taking the final call.
Harshit Rana - the most likely replacement if Bumrah misses out
There were hopes of Bumrah being available for the last ODI against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium (Motera) in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, February 12. The bowler who appears most likely to replace Jasprit Bumrah in the squad is upcoming young pacer Harshit Rana who has already featured in the first two ODI matches against England and has taken four wickets. He has only played five international matches so far and this could be a big challenge for the Delhi-born pacer to fill the shoes of one of the best bowlers in the world.
Speaking of the last ICC event which Bumrah played was the T20 World Cup last year hosted by the USA and West Indies. The pacer took 15 wickets in the eight matches he played at an average of 8.26 and an incredible economy rate of 4.17.
