Star cricketers, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, were left displeased with the supporters who had clustered together for India's practice session in Melbourne ahead of the Boxing Day Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) nets.

As per the freshest developments on the same, it is being reported that the persistent demands of the supporters left both the senior cricketers frustrated.  Reports from RevSportz suggest that both the senior batters were unhappy with the vile manner in which the fans were demanding certain shots to be played, thereby hindering their concentration while practising in the nets. Both Virat and Rohit expressed their disappointment over the same and were seen perturbed during and post their practice.

Both the batters reportedly looked rock-solid in the nets. According to the same report, they were seen grinding it out for long and intense sessions as they would aim at bettering their personal performances for the sake of the side. Other members of the side were also seen putting in the hard yards ahead of what definitely seems to appear as a series-decider.

This comes after the Indian team, post the first Test in Perth, closed the doors for the fans. As per previous reports, a select group of people abused and took a jibe at certain players from the Indian team, something which did not sit well with Rohit and the team management.

For India to have any chances of clinching the ongoing series, enhanced performances are anticipated to be a must from Virat and Rohit. While Kohli registered a century in the second innings of the first Test, he has performed underwhelmingly in the remaining outings with the bat. As for Rohit, he missed playing the first game due to familial obligations. He has had to fit in the middle-order since returning, but has not been able to find his groove up until now.

The series is delicately poised at 1-1. MCG has not quite been a particularly happy hunting ground for India. They have lost eight out of the 14 matches they have played at this venue. However, they will take confidence from their exploits in the 2020-21 season, where they ended up clinching an eight-wicket victory to script a memorable comeback in that series.
