The incident took place during the India vs Pakistan match's first rain interruption. Rohit and Shubman Gill along with all of Pakistan's players had to leave the ground as rain showers stopped play. As Rohit sat in the dugout, the cameraman, as is the norm, continued to film him, which is when the India captain signalled the cameraman to turn it off.

India struggle early on against quality Pakistan pace attack

Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first in overcast conditions in what came as a huge surprise for all. Both India batters played cautiously in the initial stages of the game prior to the rain interruption.

After the resumption of the match, however, it all went haywire for the Men in Blue as Pakistan's ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi showcased his brilliant bowling. The left-arm pacer first dismissed Rohit for 11 off 22 and soon after sent Virat Kohli with two peach of deliveries.

India soon found themselves struggling at 27/2 with Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill at the crease. Iyer who is making his comeback from a months-long injury was expected to bring India out of misery. The right-hand batter however failed yet again, giving his wicket to Haris Rauf in the 10th over.

Gill, also fell prey to Rauf, leaving the team deserted at 66/4 in the 15th over. At the end of 17.2 overs, the Men in Blue continue to struggle at 90/4.
